Lead generation

What is speed to lead?

Also called: Lead response time

Speed to lead is the elapsed time between a prospect submitting an enquiry and an agent making genuine contact. It is one of the strongest predictors of whether an internet lead ever converts.

The mechanism is competitive rather than psychological. A buyer enquiring about a property has usually enquired about several, often within the same few minutes. Whoever reaches them first frames the conversation, and every subsequent agent is responding to that frame rather than setting their own.

Response time decays sharply rather than linearly. The difference between five minutes and thirty is far larger than the difference between two hours and three, because by the second hour the outcome has usually already been decided by someone else.

The practical fix is rarely working harder — it is removing the gap where a lead sits unassigned. Automatic assignment, an immediate acknowledgement, and a task that appears in front of a named person are what close it.

Listlio automates parts of this for real estate agents.
