Marketing
What is seo for real estate?
Real estate SEO is the practice of making an agent or brokerage website rank in search results for the queries local buyers and sellers actually use, and increasingly of being cited in AI-generated answers.
The structural difficulty is that IDX listing pages are near-identical across every site in a market and expire quickly, so they rarely rank. The pages that do rank are the ones only you can write: neighbourhood knowledge, local process, market commentary with your own data.
Local intent dominates. Queries carry a place name, so a complete and consistent business profile, genuine local content and local citations matter more than generic authority.
Since 2025 the target has widened. Search results increasingly carry AI-generated answers, and being cited as a source in one has become as valuable as ranking beneath it — which rewards pages that answer a question completely rather than teasing a click.
