What is listing syndication?

Syndication is the automatic distribution of a listing from its source — usually the MLS — out to consumer property portals and partner websites, so one entry appears across many destinations.

Syndication is what gives a single listing entry broad consumer reach without manual reposting. It also means data quality decisions made once propagate everywhere, including the errors.

Each destination truncates and reformats differently. A description written for one field length can be cut mid-sentence on a portal, which is why channel-specific copy outperforms a single description pushed everywhere.

Sellers sometimes want to limit syndication for privacy. That is usually configurable at listing entry, and is worth confirming rather than assuming.
